4th of July- Oakley style

We had a really fun day on the 4th of July.  We woke up early and then met my parents up in Oakley for the parade.  It was fun to experience a small town parade.

 We showed our property to our parents and then we all hung out in the shade of our someday driveway and had lunch.

After lunch we started heading to the Polar King for shakes.

 Our evening was a BBQ with good friends and then watching some fireworks.

  Busy but definitely fun day!

June in the summer

A little sample of some of our June summer fun.

Right after school got out Ethan and a few of his friends got together to burn all their homework :)

Every Monday the kids have been getting a mysterious package in the mail with some clues and codes they have to figure out. 

Playgroup is in full force every Wednesday from 10 to 12

Ethan heading off to Scout Camp.  I tried to stay calm with their white water rafting adventures.  Ethan said it was so fun!

As of this week we have been in this house for 10 years!!!! 

So glad to call it home!

On Wednesdays we try to head to the library

And the best part of summer happens most Tuesdays and Thursdays when we head to the pool!

Pinewood Derby- Girl Style

Our Activity Day leaders put together a Pinewood Derby for girls in our neighborhood ages 8-11.  It was fun to see all these cars with a lot more style and bling than the Scout cars usually have :)

Vegas Bound

Last week Afton and I went down to Vegas for a little bit to help Aunt Liz with the 2 1/2  year olds while Nate was out of town.

We helped introduce them to salt dough.  They wanted to make lots and lots of circles with it.  They currently love circles.

Most days while they were napping Afton and I went out to find an adventure.  One time we went to King Putt for some glow in the dark miniature golfing.  Another time we went bowling and they just happened to have a skill crane.  Our luck was not so good on the skill crane.

Afton and I brought some easy to use water balloons.  The kids were mesmerized.

Aunt Liz also gave them some paintbrushes and a bucket of water which they found very entertaining to paint the cement

.  They especially liked it when one of us would draw a circle or heart for them.

Lagoon- It's What Fun Is

Last Thursday we declared as Jim's work Lagoon Day!!  It was a fun day together!  Jim and I went on Cannibal for the 1st time.  It is crazy but oh so fun! We let Ethan and Liz invite a friend so Sarah and Colin came too.

We are getting close to our kids being too tall to ride this ride or others in kiddie land.  I soaked it up for at least one more year.

Lilly went on Colossus for the first time and LOVED it!!! 

She went on it at least 6 more times before we headed home!

The teens showing us the weird doll and circus museum in Pioneer Village.  In all of my times of going to Lagoon this was a first for me.

Afton did not want to go on many rides this year.  In fact I think there were only 3 she actually liked (all spinny ones). They were Music Express, Jumping Dragon,  and Tipsy Teacups. I think she went on Music Express like 10 times!! She went on a few other rides but didn't love them as much as her spinny rides.

Last weekend we had a quick weekend trip with my parents to St. George.  We fit in some swimming and then we went to go see Newsies at Tuacahn.
