ultrasound results

Today Jim and I went in for our 18 week ultrasound. We found out that there are two little girls coming into our family soon!!! They were moving around so much and wiggled a lot for the ultrasound person.
My calm little Ethan was a little upset that at least one is not a boy to play with. I tried to tell him that it will be cool to be the only boy and all the clothes, toys, etc. we buy for him are his while Lizzie will have to share. I also have told him girls like to play cars and stuff just like Lizzie does with him. I know he will be a great big brother and already is talking to the babies and telling me how he is going to teach them how to play cars :) Lizzie I don't think understands too much yet so I will have more stories about her reaction later.......
It was actually good that it was girls because we only had two girl names picked out. Whoever is born first will be named Afton and the second little baby will be called Lilly. Afton is where Jim's mom was born and Lilly has special significance to Jim's dad. We have both liked the names for awhile so it just seemed like a natural fit.
Everything looks good with the babies so far and we are excited now that we know what they are so that we can start planning a little bit more.

While we are on the baby subject, I found this quote the other day that I really liked-
"When God wants a great work done in the world or a great wrong righted, he goes about it in a very unusual way. he doesn't stir up his earthquakes or send forth his thunderbolts. Instead, he has a helpless baby born, perhaps in a simple home and of some obscure mother. And then God puts the idea into the mother's heart, and she puts it into the baby's mind. And then God waits. The greatest forces in the world are not the earthquakes and the thunderbolts. The greatest forces in the world are babies."

Apparently I/we've been tagged.

Best thing you cooked last week?I really have not done a lot of cooking lately. I did make some cabbage rolls for Jim's birthday that we got a lot of compliments on. Jim and I also made a pretty cool crustless cheesecake for his birthday. I did the fruit decorating and thought it looked pretty cool.

If money, time and babysitting were no object, where would you go and with whom?I would really like to go to Denmark one day with the husband and kids. Jim and I have a dream trip of going to New Zealand (maybe for our 20th anniversary.) Jim would also like to go to the Cook Islands (I am assuming with me :)).

When was the last time you cried?I do not not cry too much but have had a couple of spells in October. The first one was October 5th when we found out there were two heartbeats going on for our pregnancy. Don't worry it was one of those happy cries. Just 5 days later on October 10th I had a huge sad crying day as I was told my daughters surgery probably did not work and she will most likely have to go through another one next year.
Jim had a happy cry a few days ago when he was looking at one of our family pictures from Disneyland.

5 things you were doing this month 10 years ago.
Lish: I was up at Utah State so I was probably going to classes, working at the Quickstop, making Scotchoroos way too often, wearing Doc Martens and hanging out with my roommates
Jim: working at Logan Regional Hospital, teaching a physiology lab class at Utah State, home teaching someone named Alisha Christensen (and roommates), fly fishing up Logan river, doing volunteer work for Project Pals.

5 things on your to do list today: Jim- go to church, get dressed, take a shower, tickle my kids watching Hereos
Lish-church, eat as much as I can, make the every day attempt of working on photo album but never getting to it, watching last Mondays Hereos episode that is on DVD, sleep

5 favorite snacks:Jim-Reeses Peanut Butter Cups, nuts, raisins (non-juicy), cheese, raspberries
Lish- Laffy Taffy, chewy sprees, apples (at least 2 a day), ceasear salad, peanut butter M&M's

5 bad habits:
Lish-I have a habit of leaving half eaten food or drinks around the house meaning to finish them but always moving on to another food before I do, Probably being too easy on my kids, biting fingernails, leaving lights on around the house, throwing important stuff away in my attempts to get rid of clutter.
Jim- Jim says he is lazy (I don't think he realizes working tremendously long days, taking care of house work I have not been able to do, playing with kids and doing laundry and wash every day because I can't counts as something :)) I think he is talking lack of exercise, he does have one of the dirtiest cars (inside garbage and surprises) though so I am going to count that as the other 4!,

5 favorite foods:
Jim-breakfast (pancakes, eggs, sausage), toast, pizza, anything that Alisha cooks :), garden fresh corn on the cob
Lish- spaghetti, pasta and tomatoes, Dreyers vanilla bean ice cream, Great Harvest turkey avocado sandwich, garden tomatoes

5 places I've been:
Lish-bottom of Grand Canyon, PA and NY, Disneyland, Seattle, Wal-Mart (just yesterday)
Jim-New Zealand, Disneyland for the first time at age 35, Million Dollar Saloon in Jackson Hole WY (promptly kicked out), Woodcraft, Harmons

5 favorite memories:
Lish-holding each of my kids for the first time (I am going to count that as two), saying my first prayer and realizing someone was there listening, being on the grounds at the Logan Temple and realizing Jim was the one I was going to marry and that everything would be fine, laughing with my husband and kids
Jim-to come later......

It's Autum time, It's Autumn time

It is that time of year for the leaves to be falling. We played with a few leaves in our backyard and helped Grandma and Grandpa Harrison with some of theirs. The kids thought it was so fun.

Halloween

So here are our cute little kids for Halloween. They both wanted to be M&M's which was the exact same thing they were the year before. Fine with us though. We did not have to buy any new costumes:) They absolutely loved trick-or-treating.
Sorry- I am still trying to figure out how to rotate pictures :)

In the beginning....

Okay so I thought I better follow the trend that so many are doing of blogging :)
Since I am such a fan of documenting everything possible it was probably just a matter of time... So a little about us....

This is totally a cliff note scenario but really who needs all the details anyways :)

Jim and I met up in Logan, Utah and were married in July of 1998. Our wedding day was a very hot day for anyone who can remember.
Even before Jim and I dated I knew he was a good guy. During the winter of 1997 he had helped me out of my car one day so I would not slip on the ice. Well a few weeks later I was going to church and happened to be wearing the same shoes and he commented they were the same ones I was wearing the day he helped me out of the car. I thought that was cute.
He proposed by teaching me how to fly fish.
A month after we were married we left every comfort zone we had and moved to Phoenix, AZ. I think those were some of the hardest and best years of our marriage.

In fall of 2000 we moved back to Holladay, UT and lived there until March of 2002 when we bought our first house in Sugarhouse, UT. We spent five great years there and five years of constant house projects.

In June of 2007 we moved into our house in Sandy. It is so nice to be able to stretch out and have room for the kids to play.

Speaking of kids- Ethan was born in April 2002 and is 5 1/2 right now. He has officially started the public school system with kindergarten. Ethan is so into "eye" cars right now. Those are hot wheel cars from the car movie.

Lizzie was born in February 2004 and is 3 1/2. Being a 3 1/2 little girl means she can be the cutest thing in the world and then take a drastic change very quickly. She likes to help me work on my patience. She really likes princesses, and my little ponies.

We have two babies cooking in the mom oven right now trying to get as big as possible. We are excited to meet them. They are due April 1st but most likely will come before then (but not too soon.)

I think it is funny how people can sum up over 9 years of their life in a little blurb but hey there you go.
