Carving Pumpkins

The Monday night before Halloween we decided to carve our pumpkins.

My parents were nice enough to come up for the night of fun/chaos.  The irony is I have absolutely no pictures with my parents in them.

Sorry mom and dad!

Afton and Lilly digging in

Pumpkin guts anyone?

The finished products:
Mickey Mouse (Liz), Jack Skellington (Jim), a ghost (Lilly), cat (Afton) and the Chesire Cat (Ethan)

Bootiful glow in the dark pumpkins!!!!

Afton was (and still is) so proud of her kitty.

And perhaps the easiest way to decorate a pumpkin :)

Harrison Halloween Party 2014

Jim's family does a Halloween party each year.   This year it was on October 25th.   It is great to  get together for a fun night.  An extra bonus for me is that I just take lots of pictures that day so I don't have to think as much about pictures on Halloween :)

Cornbelly's

Last Tuesday (Oct. 21st) we went to Cornbelly's up at Thanksgiving Point.  By the time we did homework, ate dinner and ran a couple quick errands we were not able to get there until 7:30.  Even though we didn't have enough time to get to everything, we still had TONS of fun.  The kids were running from one thing to the next with huge smiles.

The theme this year was from The Wizard of Oz.
Look how excited the tin woodman is :)

Me and Ethan in a little tractor race

Such a good looking couple.
A little short but still cute.

And the best picture from the evening.......
This is us once we FINALLY got out of the maze.

Without doing it on purpose we totally "got lost" in the maze!!! A maze that was supposed to take a half hour, (according to the worker before we started) took our little family 1 hour!!!  We walked out of there at 10 PM!  All customers were gone and all but one or two employees were left at CornBelly's.  We all laughed so hard at how awful we did in the corn maze and  wondered if anyone would have come in to save us. As we walked out I sarcastically said "Nailed it!!!!" to Jim.  We were both laughing so hard we had tears in our eyes and continued to laugh almost the whole drive home!!!
 Fun memories!

Pumpkin Patch

Last Monday night we were able to meet my parents at a Pumpkin Patch.
They were so nice to buy pumpkins for the kids.
It was a great night together.

My mom and Lilly ready for the hayride to start

Never know what your going to get when you take a selfie with Lizzie
The rule usually is you can only pick a pumpkin that you are able to carry.
Lizzie might be on the border here :)

Fun with friends in Oakley

We are lucky enough to have some pretty amazing friends here in the neighborhood.  Even luckier when one of them invites us and a few other families from the neighborhood to stay at their cabin for a couple days.   So for UEA we got to hang out with some of our favorite friends at a cabin up in Oakley.  It was fun, hilarious and gorgeous up there.  Here are some pictures from our stay.

A little 4 wheeler action took place

Some cute girls ready for a ride
Probably a few too many kids loaded on but still.....

So glad to call these two my friends.

Yes even in the mountains Afton (and Lilly) felt the need to wear a dress.

Cute girls!

*Ironically this picture was taken on mine and Jim's property
which was just down the street from where we stayed.
The men were planning our cabin out for us :)

So gorgeous up there this time of year.
This was the view when we stepped out of our cabin.

Great to get away and spend some time with friends.
Now back to the real world.
