pumpkin princess and La La Loopsy doll

 October 30th- Halloween at school
The staff of Altara Elementary was either a witch or character from Harry Potter.

I was Luna Lovegood from Harry Potter

How lucky am I to be able to work at a place where I can just pop into my daughters classrooms to say Hi during their Halloween parties.

 Halloween-

Even Lucky seems excited about his costume

My parents came up for dinner and to do a little trick or treating with the kids

So beautiful

Until next Halloween.....

Carving pumpkins

Monday night my parents came up
and we carved some pumpkins.

Ethan-
He felt the need to try and find the biggest pumpkin possible!  Even the seeds were giant!  He carved his huge pumpkin all by himself this year.
 Great job Ethan!

Liz-
Nice and tall pumpkin for Liz.
Hers is a skeleton face with some designs around it.

 Afton-
She was very intent on making sure the inside of hers was very clean and scraped out.  She also liked making it a puzzle game and would keep putting the pieces back in that Grandpa carved out.

 Lilly-
She has been soooo excited for pumpkin carving night.
She wanted her name on her pumpkin this year :)

Cornbelly's!!!!!

Our annual trip to Cornbelly's meant another fun night!!  The kids love it when we go and we stayed WAY past their school night bedtime.   I justified it that we don't let them do that very often and  we were having good family fun.  Even better that we made it out of the corn maze much quicker this year (42 minutes) and unlike last year there were still other employess and workers when we got out :)  Here we go in no particular order......

Our cute minions!!!

I love how happy she looks!

Perhaps my favorite picture from the night.
 Lizzie's face cracks me up!

Afton looking at the map trying to lead us out of the corn maze.

Me and my pile of cute girls!

And we made it out!!!!!
Another successful fun night at Cornbelly's!!!!!

UEA weekend!

UEA weekend was a much welcomed break.  Our days have been VERY busy lately so to have a few days off of school to just relax was very appreciated.  Here are a few things we did over the break.

Wednesday October 14th-
To kick off the long weekend Jim and I went to go see the play of one of my very favorite movies!!!

Thursday October 15th-
I took all of the kids on a bike ride.  We drove over to Draper Park to hook onto the Porter Rockwell trail for our bike ride.  Putting all the bikes into the Yukon was a little like playing Jenga.  We may need to invest in a bike rack soon.  We did a 3 mile bike ride.  That was long enough for our 7 year olds legs.  It was so nice to get out and bike with all my kids.  I think I could really like bike riding.

 Friday October 16th-
Ethan and I woke up and did a 10 mile bike ride.  It was gorgeous.  It was so fun and nice to hang out with Ethan for a little bit.  The weather and scenery were perfect.   He is definitely is in much better shape than his mom though.  I kept asking if he was tired (because I sure was) but he never was.  Later in the day all of us went and saw the movie Inside Out.  It was really cute.
 Saturday October 17th-
Jim and I decided to be brave and kinda impulsive and painted our main floor walls.  It is a color called French Silver.  I love it!!!!  Depending on how the light hits it, it can look blueish or grayish.  But now we  have decided to add many more things to our "to do" list like paint the kitchen cupboards, paint molding, replace the floors, and on and on...... :)
We are now back to home improvement projects.
BUT our walls look great and I love them!!!!

Really good example of how the same paint looks different at different times of the day.

Even Lucky seems to approve.
