Star Valley 2014

We just got back from a trip to the insanely beautiful area of Star Valley.  It is gorgeous all the time but especially this time of year with the  leaves changing colors.  Jim's parents came up with us too.  It was nice to relax and hang out together.  Such a contrast from our trip last year when we hit a deer and totaled our car.

Hanging out on the porch of our cabin

Love this picture.  Afton and Lucky out for a stroll

Swings and little kids just go together.
 Look how happy she is.

Watch out, there are a couple new sheriffs in town.
Lilly really wanted me to take a picture of her with a Peanut Butter M&M

Grasshopper catching in progress

We keep getting better at silly face pictures
The church that Jim's mom was blessed in.
Gorgeous church but with the ray of sunshine.... even better.

Sisters.
I will admit it took about 10 pictures to get this shot :)
Afton purposely kept sliding off Lilly's lap.

A little grandma bonding time

Amazing view from our cabin.

Me with no to do lists, kids to take places or others things to do.
  I loved it!

Dirty Dash 2014

Last weekend (Sept. 13th) we went and did the Dirty Dash at Soldier Hollow.  It basically is a mud obstacle course.  I know it sounds a little crazy and weird.  In reality, it was awesome and so fun!  I don't think I have laughed and had so much fun during a race for a long time.  Here are a few pictures.

Before:

Jim, Lish, Ethan and Lizzie
Notice how clean we are and that our shirts are a baby blue color.

Me with one of my favorite friends Stacey.
Before of our group
I think doing a race like this with friends made it extra fun.

After:
Yep, there's my beautiful daughter Lizzie

Ethan trudging through some mud.

All done.
Just a little bit messier than our before picture :)
Can barely tell our shirts were a baby blue color.

LOVE IT!!!!!
*On a personal note-  This will most likely be my last race of the 2014 year.   I made a goal this year to try some new races instead of my usual of half marathons.  This year I tried 3 new ones- Ragnar in June, Color Run in August and Dirty Dash in September.  They were all very fun in very different ways.  It was fun to do some races with my kids and Jim.  I am done with races now for this year and pondering some news goals and half marathons for next spring/ summer.

Were going to the zoo, zoo, zoo

Last Saturday (September 5th) we met my parent up at Hogle Zoo.  We went just a little bit before closing so it was hardly crowded at all.  Plus the weather and company were perfect.   Here are some pictures from our adventures.

Measuring up to the ape

The new African Savannah was pretty cool.
I really liked these giraffe statues.

Typical picture of an elephant :)
