Melting Pot

I am not sure how insanely lucky I got to get such an awesome job.  It is so perfect for my life right now.  I am even luckier that I get to work with some amazing people.  Last night those of us that work in the office (and the principal) went out to The Melting Pot. Wendi (the lady I work with all the time in the office) has a daughter getting married soon.  The rest of us thought Wendi deserved a night out.  Kinda like a mother of the bride party.   We also surprised her by having her sisters meet us there.  It was a lot of fun and I was reminded again of how lucky I am to be able to spend my days with these ladies.

Spelling Bee

February 25, 2015
So Lilly was chosen to represent her 1st grade class in the school spelling bee.  1st graders were up against 2nd and 3rd graders too.  I didn't think she had much of a chance against the older kids but the girl pleasantly surprised me by getting 3rd place overall!!!!!   The 1st and 2nd place finishers were 3rd graders.  I was so dang proud of my little 1st grader.
Here she is going up to spell one of her words

The winners-
 3rd place (Lilly), 2nd place (a 3rd grader) and 1st place (a 3rd grader)

One happy girl.
She got some certificates, Skittles and a $20 gift card to Wal-Mart!

Here is what a 3rd place 6 year old spelling bee winner
chooses to spend her $20 gift card on-

Another last

As the girls were all making their Valentines for their classes this year I realized it would be Lizzie's last year of making Valentines cards. :(
Lizzie wasn't too excited about me documenting this milestone
so this is as good of picture as I am going to get :)

California Physical Therapy Conference

About the end of January we had told the kids that Jim had a Physical Conference in California.  We told them that me and the kids could stay home or the kids and I  could do a long drive with Jim and play at the beach or swimming pool while Jim was at the conference.  Of course they chose the beach :)

Day 1: We got there Wednesday February 4th in the afternoon and spent the rest of the day playing at the beach.  I just love the beach and beach pictures.

Huntington and Newport Beach

Day 2:  A SURPRISE TRIP TO DISNEYLAND!!!!  On Thursday February 5th we got the kids up and ready for the day.  We told them we were going to walk and take dad to his conference. We totally surprised our kids and instead took them to the "Happiest Place on Earth."  They were quite surprised.  Like almost didn't know how to react surprised :)  It was super fun.  We spent the first day in California Adventure.

Picture right before we told them we were going in. :)  We had told them Dad's conference was by Disneyland and just for fun let's take a picture by the sign.

Day 2:  February 6th- We spent this day between California Adventure and Disneyland.  A lot of walking but still a super fun day!!!

Day 3:  February 7th- We started heading home after a little bit of breakfast at the hotel we stayed at.

One the way we decided to stop at an Old Train Museum in Barstow.

We also stopped at Calico Ghost Town.  We are good having that checked off our "have you ever been to" list and never need to return :)  It was $36 just to walk around old buildings with stores trying to sell you more stuff.

We got into Vegas that night much later than we had planned.  But we still were able to spend some time with Nate and Liz.  We went out to eat all together and then we were able to go see tremendously precious babies at the hospital. We got to Nate and Liz's new house later that night and stayed the night.
Isaac- almost 5 weeks old

Annalisa- almost 5 weeks old

Asher- Almost 5 weeks old

Precious babies!!!!!

Day 4:  February 8th-Hung out with Nate and Liz in the morning in their new house and had some delicious waffles.  Then we started the rest of the drive home.  It was a fun quick vacation and we can't wait for another one of Jim's conferences to come again :)
