Cooking party

For Lizzie's friend party she wanted to have a cooking party. 7 year old parties are so MUCH easier to plan than previous years. Her friends came over and...

First- they decorated their chef hats. I bought paper chef hats and then they put their names on them and decorated them with stickers

Second- they each were given an apron. SO MANY THANKS TO MY TALENTED AWESOME FRIEND VAL!!!! They were the cutest things and the girls thought it was so cool they got to take them home.

Third- the girls made their own pizzas with english muffins as the crust. This is Lizzie's really good friend Sophie. She is the cutest thing under that hat :)

Fourth- I taught the girls how to make chocolate covered strawberries. Yum! And the girls loved this. No pictures since my hands were busy controlling the mess of melted chocolate.

Fifth- opening presents. It was so cute to see how excited the girls got to watch Lizzie open the presents they gave her. So cute.

Lizzie has such a great group of friends right now and they are all so adorable. It was a fun if not loud (girls like to scream when they are excited) party

LIZZIE

This burst of personality turns 7 today.

Here are seven interesting facts and pictures about Lizzie from the past year.

1. Has not lost any teeth yet

2. Does not like to give hugs or kisses.

3. Has a bed but rarely uses it. She has her own bed in the girls room but prefers to sleep on the floor in Ethan's room. I think they just really like being together.

4. Tries her best to wear something purple every day.

5. Loves strawberries, tulips and vacations.

6. Has excelled immensely in her reading just within the past couple months.
*By the way how can you not smile at this picture :) Even better is she took it herself. She was the chef from Little Mermaid for Halloween

7. Has no interest in sports, piano lessons or anything like that. I barely have her talked into taking her dance class.

Happy Birthday to our amazing daughter who makes the world much more beautiful (and interesting).

* I also added a few more posts in the last couple days to any who want to see.

Color

After careful consideration of all votes.... I used both colors :)
Funny how a plan to just paint ONE wall in the kitchen turns into painting your whole main floor :)Sorry I don't have any before pictures but here is the new look.

Kitchen is now a color called Yellow Brick Road. I LOVE IT!

*the lighting in this one isn't very good but I promise the color is nice! I am going to put something on each side of the mirror but haven't decided what yet.

Front Room is now Cherry Tart. I need to figure out a better way to place my family and kid photos so I am still working on that.

Winter entertainment

What do you do as you wait for the days of spring when you can play outside?

You dress your dog up in size 2T pajamas

or
You pretend your a kitty and make your bed in a kitty box that can also double as the dress up bin

or
you find a pair of swimming goggles and think you need to wear them all day while pretending to be diving in the ocean

Please spring come quickly.

Valentines

I am a little late but I really did have a great Valentines this year. Here are some of the reasons why...

#1- I was the last person in my house to get up that morning. That hasn't happened for YEARS (not counting bedrest of course). My nice son woke up and got breakfast (aka cereal) ready for all of his sisters. I don't know if he did it on purpose or not but I told him that was the best Valentines present he could give me.

#2- My kids were home from school. Even though it is much more noisy and crazy with them all home I LOVE having them home.

#3- Jim and I went to eat at our favorite restuarant- Red Butte Cafe. Yum!

#4- Jim and I also went to the Sarah Mclachlan concert at Kingsbury Hall. Not enough can be said about how much I like her music and she is AMAZING in concert.

All in all a very good day:)

Tart or Honey?

I realized the other day we have lived in our house for 3 1/2 years and there are still many walls that are just white.
So my goal for Feb. is to add some color.

I will be painting my kitchen. I am trying to decide between these two colors-

This one is called Cherry Tart. Doesn't that just sound fun?

Or this yellow color called Wildflower Honey.

I am accepting votes :) Although I won't say which color I am leaning towards forking out some money on and opening this weekend. I will put after pictures up later.
I will also be painting my main floor bathroom... color choices coming later. I am excited but am trying to figure out if I should include the little girls in my project too and we paint during the day or waiting until they are in bed.
