Add-ons
Last Thursday I decided to take the kids to the zoo. It was funny because I invited my mom (since she has summers off), well my dad caught wind of this and decided to take a day off work for what he called a "Grandkid actitivity" :) THEN Jim wanted to come too so he arranged his schedule to meet us up there and hang out for awhile. Our original group of 5 quickly expanded to 8. It was probably one of the best days I (and my kids) have had at the zoo for a long time. Thank you all for coming.

Mom and baby elephant. So cute!!!
What Grandpa's do best. Forcing your grandson into a stream of water :) I like how Lizzie is looking on giggling
FATHER'S DAY
I am so lucky to have been raised by two incredible parents. In honor of Father's Day I will spotlight a few (out of hundreds) reasons why I think my dad is amazing. Plus I know even though he rarely comments on the blog, he still checks it frequently:)
1. Takes days off work to spend with his grandkids at the zoo.
2. The smell of Wrigley's spearmint gum reminds me of him.
3. Has a PERMAGRIN whenever he is around his grandkids.
4. Always felt like he would drop anything for me.
5. Reading A Visit From St. Nicholas every Christmas Eve growing up and now he reads it to my kids
6. Always being available for talks down in the basement of our old house.
7. Letting me and my brother pick mugs from his special collection for root beer floats
8. Grocery shopping at Food 4 Less with my dad.
9. Recently has stopped doing something that makes me so happy.
10. Spoiled his daughter :)

Big Girls
Afton and Lilly have experienced new things this week.
On Monday (June 13th) they started their very first swim lessons. We usually go swimming once a week in the summer but they have never had lessons. It is funny to see how they each handle new situations. We thought Afton would be fine (she usually is with new things) and Lilly would be more anxious. Afton jumped right in while Lilly was very hesitant. Afton looked back and saw her sister being anxious and thought she should do that too. After about 10 minutes of hestitation Lilly really got into it and loved it while Afton just sat on the edge for the rest of the lesson. Jim and I were really surprised how hesitant Afton became. Hopefully it will get better for her.
*Don't you love how their swimsuits cover like 80% of their body. I am a mom who frequently forgets sunscreen so I thought these kind of swimsuits would be good :)
Here they are right before swim lessons started.
Today they had their first dance class. They loved it. There is a tinted window for parents and it was so fun to see them dance. Lilly was hesitant the first five minutes but then they both LOVED it!!!! Afton did everything the teacher asked while Lilly would pick and choose.
*Here they are dancing in our front room right before we left. I think a big wall of mirrors will be loved and well used by three girls who like to dance in front of it.
