Harrison Halloween Party

The Harrison Halloween Party always gives me a chance to get pictures before the craziness of Halloween :)

Lilly was a bee for the Harrison party.  I love that this is the same costume Lizzie wore when she was the same age :)
For school parties and actual trick or treating Lilly was a butterfly.

Jim is really into bees right now so he was very happy to be a beekeeper so I was his Queen Bee

Cornbelly's

We made our annual trip to Cornbelly's.  It really is one of my favorite nights of October.

Picking Pumpkins

On Monday night we went and picked out our pumpkins with the grandparents.  Our usual place had a new admission fee so we headed on over to Schmidt's pumpkin patch.  It ended up being a very good decision.  It was a fun night and we will get back together in a couple weeks to carve our pumpkins.

Hillcrest Homecoming 2018

It is crazy to realize we have a kid who is old enough to go to high school dances!

They went ice skating for their day activity, took a few pictures around Gardner village, ate at Archibalds, went to the dance and came back here to hang out for a bit.  Sounds like it was a fun night. 

 We have now entered the dance

 season phase of life here in the Harrison house :)

September.....

September has been a VERY busy month for us.  Once school starts things get busy and they only get busier until school is out in June.  

Lots and lots of tomatoes from our garden this year.  I made freezer marinara and some fresh salsa and of course lots of BLT's and fresh tomato basil marinara sauce.

We had to go to a parent meeting for Vocal Ensemble and Concert Choir. I noticed Ethan's picture up on the wall as part of Vocal Ensemble.   It  reminded me how dang proud I am of him for being a part of VE and concert choir this year.

Ethan asked someone to a school dance for the first time!!!!!  He asked his friend Elli to Homecoming :)

Jim and I had a date night and went to go see Peter Brienholt at the Sandy Amphitheater.  It was a great night with my best friend.

Afton doesn't really like to play any  board games or card games.  Ethan is usually the only one that can talk her into playing.  This particular Sunday night he talked her into Stratego :)

Ethan got his first answer to a dance!  Elli answered him by putting a whole bunch (60 ish) slips of plastic in a big bowl of Jello that said try again.  One slip said Yes :)  Of course  he pulled out about 57 of them before he found the yes

Along with our harvest of tomatoes, my parents gave us LOTS  of peaches. We made lots of peach jam!

Afton and Lilly had their very LAST Altara Jogathon.  I kinda want to cry.  We have been a part of this schools tradition since 2007 when Ethan started kindergarten.  It's hard to think next year none of my kids will be at Altara Elementary and instead have moved on to High School and Middle School

My dad refinished this secretary desk that my grandparents had.  It is AMAZING and so beautiful.  I love it!!!

 I was part of a dance off at work for a school assembly. It seriously was one of the funnest days at work!!!  I went on YouTube to figure out line dancing, the whip nae/nae dance, gangam style, macarena and the twist.  Here I am with my friends Wendi and Kourtney who were part of the dance off too.

The kids had a Friday off school so we headed to the Living Planet Aquarium.

Cousins were in town and got to come hang out with us one night while their parents went on a date night.  Here is Afton showing Asher how to draw trains :)
